THEN students need to USE the words -- create documents labeled "Vocab 1/30"

and complete the two activities:

Activity #1:  Everyone write a contemptuous note

from your (or any) cat to your(or any) dog

OR

from Squidward to Sponge Bob

 

Activitiy #2:  everyone at the table suggest a different FICTIONAL character who is belligerent.  Then individually, on your OWN document, rank them from least belligerent to most -- EXPLAIN your ranking using the definition of belligerent

 

When done, SILENT SUSTAINED READING  for 20 minutes  Nevermind --- no time with the delay...

 

Students should Pair & SHARE their google doc Copy of "Way Eye See It" with another for Peer Editing  and USE the checklist!  This should be a quiet activity, as you are reading online...

I will start to grade your stories right after class.  

 

INDIVDUALS silently read BK 10  Mythweb version of Odyssey Bk 10, THEN for each of the 3 adventures (Aeolus' bag of wind, Laestrygonians, & Circe) 

either 

  • Illustrate in detail (yes, draw a cartoon strip) 

OR

  • summarize each in a paragraph .  

 

What doesn't get finished in class is homework (plus the flashcards for Jan. vocab)

 

 

Create your own FLASH CARDS for all of January VOCABULARY -- Apples-to-Apples game next class to review for QUIZ! 

Cards MUST be done when you come to class to receive credit -- simple paper cards are FINE!!!

 

 

READ in your SSR book -- you will be committed to reading this book after next class for review, so MAKE sure you like it by reading over the weekend.
