Reading Requirements in CP English I
Every quarter, students are to complete a minimum of 2 independent reads. On average, this means a book a month. The grade for this assignment will be determined by the reading level and length of the book PLUS the quality of your review on the blog. Your independent readers are in addition to and separate from class and literature circle reads.
· Above Grade Level (10 up) = A
· Grade Level (8-10)= B
· Below Grade Level (below 9)= C
You are to SELECT CAREFULLY!
If you are unsure, check the review on Amazon. Grade levels for YA selections are noted; if no notation, assume it is an adult level read = A
You will keep an index card logging your reading dates and pages to turn in when book is finished. THEN you will complete an Independent Reading Blog Review.
