Before we enter the ANCIENT and often disorienting world of epic heroes, let's enter the futuristic and often disorienting world of Sci Fi -- close reading

In SMALL groups (no more than 4)  read up on the background of The Trojan War (Judgement of Paris)

If you were in Paris' situation, which goddess would you have awarded apple to??? 

 

Now, remembering that this is the Apple of Discord, what problems do you see arising from each gift?  

EX:  Paris got the The MOST beautiful woman, but he caused a 10 yr war that led to the utter destruction of his family, his people, his city ...

 

Each table should imagine the specific problems of a life where one is 

  • A Powerful Ruler  (like President of United States);
  • Famous for brains and skill  (glory in war/business/tech)
  • Married to the most beautiful/handsome individual in the world

WRITE out ideas - one copy/table -- on paper and hand in
